The GOOBAY Cat5e RJ45 Y-adapter makes one network cable do the work of two. Because half of the wires in a 10/100 Mbit Ethernet connection go unused, the adapter lets a single cable carry two separate Ethernet lines. It needs no power and must always be used in pairs, one at each end of the run: the first unit combines the signals, the second splits them back into two standard sockets. The adapter has an RJ45 male (8P8C) plug and two RJ45 female (8P4C) ports on a 150 mm lead, with FTP shielding in a metalized housing. Please note that it works only with 10/100 Mbit links, not with gigabit LAN or PoE.
