With interchangeable covers in various colors, you can easily match its look to your style or the nature of your recording. Support for transmission to various devices allows you to freely customize your setup to suit your needs. Three voice tone settings and two-stage noise reduction are available to help you achieve the desired effect in various conditions. Automatic volume limiting protects recordings from clipping, ensuring their clarity. The microphone is also compatible with select DJI devices in the OsmoAudio system. Long battery life (up to 48 hours with the charging case, sold separately) lets you focus on recording without having to recharge frequently. The set includes the DJI Mic Mini 2 transmitter and the DJI Mic Mini receiver.
The DJI Mic Mini 2 transmitter is equipped with magnetic covers that can be quickly swapped out, allowing you to change the device’s appearance to suit your needs. The kit includes classic versions (black and white) that suit most applications. There are three voice tone settings to choose from, allowing you to tailor the recording’s character to your specific needs. Regular mode offers a natural, balanced sound suitable for most applications. The Rich setting boosts the low frequencies, making the sound more expressive. Bright, on the other hand, emphasizes high frequencies, improving speech intelligibility. Two levels of noise reduction are also available. Basic mode works well in quiet environments, reducing background sounds such as fan or air conditioning noise. In noisier conditions, Strong mode is the better choice, as it more effectively eliminates interference and allows you to focus on the voice.
The microphone’s omnidirectional pattern captures sound from all directions, which is particularly useful in dynamic situations. Recording at 48 kHz / 24-bit ensures high detail and faithful sound reproduction. Automatic volume limiting protects the audio from clipping, ensuring recordings remain clean even during sudden changes in sound intensity. A 5-step gain adjustment is also available via a knob on the receiver, allowing for precise signal level tuning. The Safety Track feature available in the DJI Mimo app records an additional track with the volume reduced by 6 dB, serving as a safeguard against clipping—particularly useful during live recordings. When the windscreen is attached, the transmitter effectively reduces wind noise and other interference, allowing you to capture clear audio even outdoors.
The DJI Mic Mini 2 works with the DJI Mic Mini receiver and can be quickly paired with a variety of devices, such as smartphones, cameras, computers, and tablets. This makes it easy to integrate into your recording setup. The system also enables wireless recording using two transmitters and one receiver, allowing you to capture audio from more than one source simultaneously. Additionally, the DJI Mic Mini receiver supports simultaneous operation with both the DJI Mic Mini and DJI Mic Mini 2 transmitters, increasing flexibility and making it easier to expand your setup without having to replace existing components.
Using the system does not require complicated setup. After connecting the transmitter or receiver to your smartphone, you can conveniently manage settings and update the software via the DJI Mimo app. A major convenience is the ability to directly pair up to two transmitters with select DJI cameras, such as the DJI Osmo Nano, DJI Osmo 360, DJI Osmo Pocket 3, or DJI Osmo Action 6. Thanks to integration within the OsmoAudio ecosystem, there is no need for an additional receiver, which speeds up preparation for recording.
The system offers a wide operating range, reaching up to 400 meters in a configuration with two transmitters and one receiver. This allows you to record freely even at greater distances without losing signal quality. The operating time is also noteworthy—the transmitter operates for up to 11.5 hours, and the receiver for approximately 10.5 hours. When combined with the charging case (sold separately), the total operating time can reach up to 48 hours. Fast charging provides about an hour of runtime after just 5 minutes of charging (for both the transmitter and receiver). Additionally, the transmitter automatically enters sleep mode when not connected to the receiver, and in the DJI Mimo app, you can set both devices to automatically power off after 15 minutes without a connection. The receiver can also turn on and off along with the connected camera. When used with a smartphone, it draws power from it, and when both devices are connected to an external power source, they charge simultaneously.
